(Macao, December 15, 2012) -The 55th Asia-Pacific Film Festival Award Ceremony was held at The Venetian® Macao-Resort Hotel on 15 December at 8 p.m. Bowie Tsang and David Wu were Masters of Ceremony. The 55th Asia-Pacific Film Festival Organizing Committee invited over hundred of celebrities from countries all over Asia to join the influential event of the Asia-Pacific film industry.
The order of the awards presented and their winners are as follows:
Best Supporting Actress: Wantanabe Makiko (Capturing Dad, Tokyo)
Best Cinematography: Jake Pollack (Starry Starry Night, Taipei)
Best Editing: Wong Hoi (Cold War, Hong Kong)
Best Art Director: Wasiq Khan (Gangs of Wassepur 1 & 2, Mumbai)
Best Supporting Actor: Lo Hoi Pang (Life Without Principle, Hong Kong)
Best Music: Pritam Chakraborty (Barfi!, Mumbai)
Best Sound: Traithep Wongpariboon, Nopawat Litiwong (The Silent War, Hong Kong)
Best Screenplay: Ahmad Reza Motamedi (Alzheimer, Tehran)
Best Actress: Gwei Lun Mei (GF.BF, Taipei)
Best Actor: Eddie Garcia (Bwakaw, Manila)
Best Director: Hirokazu Kore-eda (I Wish, Tokyo)
Best Movie: Life Without Principle (Media Asia Films Ltd, Hong Kong)
Marvelous performances from the artists made for a vivid awards show, including a dancing medley composed of four different styles, representing four of the cities from among members of the 55th APFF, to symbolize a better future for the Asia-Pacific film industry created by the cooperation of all Asian countries. In addition, to celebrate the Asian actors who won international awards, the organizer specially invited international pianist Choi Sown-le as one of the performers. Solar, a native Macanese band, also performed songs in various languages to show the host city's welcome to different kinds of culture.
