The God of Songs Delights Fans at The Venetian Macao

“Sam Hui What a Wonderful World 2015” a hit with the Cotai Arena crowd

(Macao, April 4, 2015) – One of the most recognisable faces in Cantopop, Sam Hui, took fans on a whirlwind concert when he brought his latest concert series “Sam Hui What a Wonderful World 2015” to The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Arena on Saturday night. The show marked a return to the venue after just over a year for one of the pioneers of Cantopop and the audience were clearly thrilled to see him back in the city.

Hui is a showman of the highest order and this show was no exception, and the audience of enthusiastic fans were thankful if their screams and cheers were anything to go by. He sang some of his greatest hits, including “I Have a Dream,” “Dairy in Heart” and “Hard to Forget you” and among the many highlights in the 3 hour show was his duet with Shannon Lee. Another highlight was when his two sons, Ryan and Scott, and his apprentice Justin Lam joined him on stage.

Known, among other things, for infusing Western-style music into his songs, Hui sang several cover songs in English, including “Johnny B. Good,” proving that his longevity is trumped only by his creativity and his impressive stage presence.
