Award-winning restaurants bless visitors’ palates for Chinese New Year

(Macao, Jan. 14, 2016) – Sands Resorts Cotai Strip Macao and Sands® Macao will celebrate the Chinese New Year by offering tempting Spring Festival choices across a number of award-winning restaurants for the upcoming Year of the Monkey. Guests can indulge in a string of set menus, festive buffets and tantalising delicacies in February as they welcome a year of good fortune and happiness.  

Chinese New Year Menus at Sands Resorts Cotai Strip Macao

North at The Venetian® Macao: A winner of Wine Spectator magazine’s 2015 Best of Award of Excellence, North is bedecked in a beautiful wood panel décor and specialises in northern Chinese and Sichuan cuisine.

The Chinese New Year special menu features delicacies such as steamed prawns with egg white in rice wine; crispy fried yellow croaker with rice vinegar and pine nuts; deep-fried whole spring chicken with spiced salt and more. Canton at The Venetian Macao: This beautifully decorated fine-dining restaurant was awarded a Best of Award of Excellence in 2015 for its wine list by Wine Spectator magazine. The restaurant has private rooms so family and friends can enjoy a Chinese New Year meal in a cosy environment.

From Feb. 4-22, Canton is offering a Chinese New Year set menu alongside an a la carte menu. The set menu is priced at MOP 1,188 per person and features exquisite dishes such as braised sliced abalone with sea cucumber and goose web in oyster sauce; braised seasonal vegetables with fresh crab coral and more. The a la carte menu starts at just MOP 118 and includes tempting selections such as deep fried cheese shrimp mousse balls; braised bamboo pith with mushroom and assorted vegetable; and stir-fried grouper fillet and lobster with sliced kale and mushroom. Poon Choi Takeaway at Canton: For those who want to enjoy a traditional Chinese New Year meal at home without worrying about all the preparations, consider Canton’s takeaway Poon Choi. Bambu: Have a sumptuous buffet meal with your family at Bambu to celebrate Chinese New Year. The popular restaurant has prepared a series of festive dishes such as Thai style stir-fried prawns with garlic  and roasted suckling pig on top of daily buffet staples.

Dynasty 8 at Conrad Macao, Cotai Central: From Feb. 7–14, Dynasty 8 has prepared two magnificent Chinese feasts to help guest celebrate Chinese New Year. Guests can choose from eight- or nine-course set menus for lunch and eight- or ten-course set menus for dinner. The menus feature exquisite traditional selections including braised dried oysters, conpoy, sea moss and Chinese lettuce; double-boiled chicken soup with abalone and sea conch head; steamed garoupa with soya sauce; and wok-fried broccoli with crab meat.

Poon Choi Hamper at Dynasty 8: Between Jan. 25 and Feb. 14, guests who want a traditional Poon Choi meal can order a festive hamper at Dynasty 8 to take home and enjoy with their family. The Poon Choi hamper for four people is priced at MOP 1,888 and includes prawns, abalone, dried oysters, fish maw rolls and roast duck. To order a hamper please call +853 8113 8920.

Grand Orbit at Conrad Macao, Cotai Central: Grand Orbit is featuring a sumptuous Chinese New Year buffet from Feb. 7-14 that features Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, Mediterranean, Southeast Asian and Indian specialties as well as fresh seafood on ice. Grand Orbit is located on the ground floor of Sands Cotai Central. The lunch buffet is served from noon to 3 p.m. daily; the dinner buffet has two seatings, one from 5:30-8 p.m. and 8:30-11 p.m. The lunch buffet is priced at MOP 298 for adults and MOP 149 for children, the dinner buffet is priced at MOP 468 for adults and MOP 234 for children. Golden Court at Sands® Macao: Gather your family, friends and colleagues this Chinese New Year to enjoy the fantastic Cantonese food at Sands Macao. The team has created a range of special dishes for you and your family celebrate the occasion. Dishes include crab roe purée with mixed seafood soup; braised air-dried oyster and goose web with lettuce and mushroom; steamed Yunnan ham with grouper fillet and more. Prices start from MOP 128.

Golden Court will also be serving a delicious special dim sum menu that includes steamed shrimp dumplings with crab roe and steamed siu mai with pork, pork tongue and air-dried oyster. Prices for dim sum dishes are just MOP 48.

888 Buffet: This Chinese New Year, diners can indulge in sumptuous and festive lunch and dinner buffets at 888 Buffet. There will also be traditional Portuguese desserts such as Portuguese egg tarts and serradura.
