(Macao, Oct. 30, 2015) – TAP DOGS, the global tap dancing sensation from Australia, wowed Macao audiences with their high energy performances and rhythmic sounds at their opening show at The Venetian Macao.
The unique tap dance show has played to sell-out crowds around the world and can now add Macao to its impressive list of over 330 cities on six continents. The show opened at The Venetian® Macao on Oct. 30 for the first show of its eight-day run of performances, and will run until Nov. 8, tickets are still available via Cotai Ticketing outlets and www.cotaiticketing.com.
Created by renowned Australian choreographer Dein Perry, the show is an 80-minute non-stop dance and music performance that combines the strength and power of workmen with the precision and talent of tap dancing and drummers to create an incredible live theatrical performance. In water, on ladders, upside-down or jumping through scaffolding, the TAP DOGS move to the groove of their own beat as the team work together to bring the sounds and rhythms of a steel-works construction site alive.
The show, which has been described as part theatre, part dance, part rock concert and part construction site, has won numerous accolades, including almost a dozen international awards including the prestigious Olivier Award and the Obie Award. The show also performed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and was the subject of a feature movie called “Bootmen” and has been a firm favourite with audiences around the world since its world premiere at the Sydney Theatre Festival in January 1995. With this limited run at The Venetian Theatre, fans in Macao can now get a glimpse of them in action.
