The Venetian Macao to Host China Music Awards for Fifth Straight Year

Celebrities will descend on Cotai Arena for awards and performances

(Macao, March 14, 2016) – The China Music Awards will return to The Venetian® Macao on April 15, 2016 for the fifth consecutive year. Sponsored by The Venetian Macao, the China Music Awards will bring some of the music industry’s biggest stars together for a night of awards and world-class entertainment at the Cotai Arena. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Channel V throughout China and other Asian countries.

The theme of the ceremony this year is “Initial Dream, Born for Music” and the event aims to pay tribute to the singers who have contributed to the industry over the past 20 years.

The China Music Awards was originally launched back in 1994 and has gathered the nation’s top music industry talent in host cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hong Kong, Macao and Taipei. It is the only Chinese music awards show that is telecast in China and around the world.

The 15,000-seat Cotai Arena has firmly established itself as the one of the top entertainment destinations in southern China. Besides hosting high-profile awards shows, the Cotai Arena has staged performances by some of the world’s and Asia’s biggest music superstars, including the Rolling Stones, Katy Perry, Bon Jovi, Big Bang, Eason Chan and the stars of the hit TV reality series “The Voice of China”.
