Macao Elderly Enjoy La Parisienne as Guests of Sands China

(Macao, Aug. 13, 2018) – A group of around 40 members of the Lok In Elderly Service Centre of the Women’s General Association of Macau enjoyed the La Parisienne variety show Aug. 5 at The Parisian Macao, as invited guests of Sands China Ltd.

The group received free round-trip transportation to and from the complimentary event, which also included a tour of The Parisian Macao prior to the show, with Sands Cares Ambassadors accompanying them to visit to the Fontaine des Mers, Place de la Concorde, Place Vendome, and the observation decks at the Eiffel Tower. Before the performance of La Parisienne, the group enjoyed a meet and greet with members of the show’s cast.

“The elderly members of our association were so enthusiastic about this opportunity given by Sands China,” said Ho I Lam, acting director of the Women’s General Association of Macau’s Lok In Elderly Service Centre. “It gave them a chance to make some very special memories and to share some happy moments together. The transportation arrangement made it so easy for them to attend, and the attention and care they received at The Parisian Macao by the Sands Cares Ambassadors was very heartwarming to see. Our gratitude goes to Sands China for making this event so meaningful for our elderly members.”

Winnie Wong, vice president of corporate communications and community affairs for Venetian Macau Limited, said: “Sands China is so pleased to have arranged this community event for the members at Lok In. The older generation is a resource to be cherished and cared for, and it’s important for us to offer our time and energy in their service, and to bring joy to their hearts.”

Founded in August 2009, the Sands China Care Ambassador programme aims to give Sands China employees an opportunity to serve the local community by organising community activities and initiatives that work toward creating a better Macao. With a current membership of more than 1,600 volunteers from across all Sands China properties – Sands® Macao, The Venetian® Macao, The Plaza™ Macao, Sands® Cotai Central and The Parisian Macao – the Sands China Care Ambassadors contributed close to 12,000 hours of voluntary community service in more than 50 activities in 2017.

Sands China Ltd. considers initiatives like the community event with the Lok In Elderly Service Centre of the Women’s General Association of Macau as central to its commitment toward social causes and community involvement; it is one of the many ways the company expresses its care and spreads warmth to vulnerable and less-advantaged groups in the Macao community.

Sands China’s community work is part of Sands Cares, the global corporate citizenship programme of parent company Las Vegas Sands Corp.
