Six Sands Resorts Macao and Sands Macao Restaurants Receive Prestigious Wine Spectator Awards

(Macao, July 17, 2018) – Six Sands Resorts Macao and Sands® Macao’s signature restaurants have been recognised for their outstanding wine offerings in Wine Spectator’s 2018 Restaurant Awards.

Portofino, Canton and North at The Venetian® Macao; Golden Court and Copa Steakhouse at Sands® Macao; and Zi Yat Heen at Four Seasons Hotel Macao, Cotai Strip were all honoured with ‘Best of Award of Excellence’ commendations.

This is the seventh consecutive year that U.S. wine magazine Wine Spectator has bestowed these prestigious awards on Sands Resorts Macao and Sands Macao restaurants for their outstanding wine lists.

Wine Spectator began its program to recognise the world’s best wine lists back in 1981. There are three levels of recognition: Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence and Grand Award, each honouring restaurants whose wine lists feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu. Lists are well-focused and tend to emphasise discovery. This year restaurants in more than 75 countries were highlighted for the excellence of their wine programs.

Tom Connolly, Senior Vice President of Food and Beverage Operations, Sands China Ltd. commented: “We are deeply honoured that so many of our restaurants have been recognised by one of the world’s leading wine authorities. Achieving diverse and extensive wine lists at a wide range of international restaurants is challenging and these prestigious awards are confirmation that we are succeeding in this.”

With Macao named as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in 2017, there has never been a better time to explore Sands Resorts Macao and Sands Macao’s award-winning array of great dining options.
