Local SME Suppliers Showcase Products at Fourth Sands China Back-of-House Roadshow

(Macao, Feb. 26, 2018) – Two local SMEs contracted by Sands China are currently holding roadshows at the back-of-house areas of Sands® Macao, The Venetian® Macao, Sands® Cotai Central and The Parisian Macao as part of Sands China’s Local Small, Medium and Micro Suppliers Support Programme.

The roadshows aim to offer more business opportunities to local small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), micro-enterprises, young entrepreneurs, and “Made-in-Macao” enterprises, and are part of Sands China’s commitment to further support local procurement and SME growth.

Local SME suppliers Fotonice and Power House Technology are displaying more than 40 products to Sands China’s 28,000 team members between Feb. 26 and March 8, offering them at a discounted price.

Fotonice is retailer of products such as cameras, lenses, instant film, and photo printers, as well as other electronic accessories and appliances. Lou Cheok Weng, managing director, said: “Working with Sands China has been a great experience for our company, and we’re glad to be one of its suppliers; becoming a supplier has been a very positive development for our business. We’re also very pleased at the opportunity these roadshows provide for us to connect directly with Sands China employees to introduce our products to them and hopefully have them as new customers.”

Micro-enterprise Power House Technology Limited sells smart phones, tablets, laptop computers, external hard drives, and other related electronic accessories. Dennis Ho, deputy general manager, said: “Sands China has been a very reliable client for us to work with. We’re very happy with the resulting increase in our business, and also appreciate the chance we have to sell directly to Sands China staff at these roadshows. Communicating directly with consumers in the hotel industry helps us understand the characteristics, consumption power and shopping habits of this target group, and that helps us adjust our marketing strategy and product selection.”

Jaehong Choi, vice president of procurement and supply chain for Venetian Macau Limited, said: “We are very pleased with the outcome of these roadshows, which are part of our local SME support programme. The local SMEs and micro suppliers greatly appreciate the opportunity to showcase their products and raise awareness of their brands and identities, and our team members enjoy the convenience of browsing and buying products in their workplaces at discounted prices. We are committed to organising these roadshows and other events throughout the year, and we very much look forward to achieving continued success with this initiative.”

Sands China regularly holds these types of roadshows for its team members. They benefit SMEs by giving them access to direct business opportunities with customers, while giving Sands China’s team members a chance to enjoy discounted offers.

Sands China’s Local Small, Medium and Micro Suppliers Support Programme was jointly announced in July 2015 with the Macao Chamber of Commerce. The programme is in line with the Macao government’s initiative to “buy local” and demonstrates Sands China’s commitment to supporting local enterprises as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts. It is part of Sands China’s supplier relationship management strategy, which guides the company’s long-standing effort to support local suppliers, whom it views as its strategic partners.
