Accolade again recognises authentic excellence of Indian cuisine at The Venetian Macao
(Macao, Nov. 9, 2016) – The Golden Peacock at The Venetian® Macao has been recognised by the Michelin Guide Hong Kong and Macau 2017 as “a very good restaurant in its category” and again awarded a Michelin one-star rating – the fourth year in a row the Indian restaurant has received the prestigious accolade.
Led by Kerala native, Chef Justin Paul, The Golden Peacock prides itself on authenticity throughout, from the chefs and recipes to the techniques and ingredients.
“I am delighted that Michelin has once again chosen to honour The Golden Peacock,” said Chef Justin. “We strive to offer the best regional Indian cuisine and work hard to keep the menu authentic and exciting so our guests get not only a delicious experience but also one they will not have had elsewhere in Macao. My team is dedicated and talented, and we are thrilled with this recognition.”
The Golden Peacock, which is also included in Hong Kong Tatler magazine’s “Best Restaurants 2016” and is a Hurun Presidential Awards recipient for “Best Special Food & Beverage,” has recently introduced an irresistible selection of authentic dishes. Highlights include:
- Kandari murgh tikka (organic chicken, pomegranate, baby beetroots, cumin seed, coriander seed, Kashmiri chilli, hung- curd, cashewnut)
- Karawari Scallop (Scottish scallop, coconut, ginger chutney, cumin avocado cream, curry leaf
- Dal Sona Mor (black lentils, fresh plum tomato puree, clarified butter, fresh cream)
- Badal-e-jaam (purple eggplant, roasted almond flakes, yoghurt, cumin, green chillies, saffron)
- Kashmir Khazana (blood orange ice cream, Arabic dates, Kashmiri saffron)
All dishes, including a comprehensive range of regional specialities, are made using ingredients imported directly from India to ensure authenticity, from spices to clay serving pots. Prepared by a team of talented chefs that includes 11 from across India, The Golden Peacock is the best place to sample authentic and award-winning Indian cuisine in Macao.
The restaurant’s beautiful interiors, with a recurring peacock theme, will also delight guests. While the restaurant entrance is painted in gold leaf to emphasise the richness and opulence of Indian culture, the huge copper tandoori oven is an eye-catching centrepiece.
The Golden Peacock is open daily 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. for buffet lunch, with an à la carte menu also available from 6 – 11 p.m. Reservations or private events can be booked by calling +853 8118 9696 or emailing email@example.com
