(Macao,
December 18, 2012) – The Winter in Venice Photo Competition announced its winners Tuesday,
with Mr. Sio Kin Seng grabbing the grand prize of MOP 10,000. The competition challenged
Macao residents to submit their original
photos showing the memorable moments
from the various attractions of Winter in Venice,
the biggest holiday carnival in Macao, and a
first in Asia.
A panel of judges, primarily composed
of members of professional photography associations, awarded 56 prizes in
total, with the winning photos going on display at the Winter in Venice Photo Competition
Exhibition beginning December 29, after an official award presentation ceremony.
“We saw a fantastic response from
the public, with over 500 entries received during the 12-day submission period,
giving us a wonderful selection of creative photos to choose from,” said one of
the panel judges. “I was extremely impressed, although not at all surprised, by
the incredible amount of talent shown by Macao’s
photography enthusiasts. I hope locals enjoyed taking part in the competition
as much as we enjoyed viewing the remarkable results.”
To get a preview of all the winning
photos, head to The Venetian Macao website at www.venetianmacao.com/winterinvenice, and enjoy them in

Winter in Venice lasts until January 13, 2013, with The Venetian Macao transformed into a majestic winter wonderland, with exciting celebrations and festivities throughout the integrated resort. Supported by the Macau Government Tourist Office, this unprecedented seasonal experience in Macao features one of the world’s largest architectural 3D video mapping projects ever created, the spectacular 3D light and sound show, “The Magic of the Seasons.” Images are projected onto The Venetian Macao’s façade, taking spectators on an awe-inspiring journey themed on the four seasons. Night-time gondola rides in the outdoor lagoon during weekends are available for viewing the stunning visuals. This ultimate holiday extravaganza has also brought to Macao one of its biggest outdoor Christmas trees standing elegantly over the lagoon area, the first and only synthetic skating rink in Cotai as well as a Giant Snow Globe located at St. Mark’s Square at The Venetian Macao’s Shoppes Grand Canal.
