February 2, 2013) – It wastruly a Race with the Stars to be remembered on Saturday. After a thrilling
and competitive dash throughout The Venetian® Macao, Sands® Cotai Central and The
Plaza™ Macao,
a team of lucky contestants crossed the finish line at Level 3 of Shoppes Cotai
Central. Headed by Hong Kong celebrities Ekin
Cheng and Jordan Chan, the team’s final score beat out four other celebrity-led
teams, earning each contestant MOP 50,000 in Sands Rewards Dollars.
The Rewards Dollars can
be spent on a diverse and comprehensive array of products, services and events throughout
Sands China’s properties, including shopping, dining, entertainment,
exhibitions, spa, transportation and accommodation. The expansive selection
includes 9,000 hotel rooms, 600 duty-free shops, well over 100 dining options
and a plethora of world-class entertainment events.

The 11
celebrity guests from Hong Kong, Taiwan and China that helped navigate the five teams
through the day’s challenges were:

Stopping at each of six
iconic destinations throughout the three properties, the teams competed with
each other to be not only the fastest, but the best in accomplishing each of
the assigned tasks, which included singing, dancing and a celebrity trivia
quiz. Instant win prizes were also given out during the race, and included
Cotai Water Jet First Class tickets, dining and spa vouchers and golden “ru yi”
ornaments.
“I’m so excited to have
won!” said Ms. Hu Ya of China, one of the elated contestants from the winning
team. “I’m really looking forward to figuring out what I’m going to spend all
these reward dollars on!”
After the race, Jacky Wu, Huang Ping Yuen, Eric
Suen, Athena
Chu, Ekin
Cheng, Jordan Chan, Chapman To, An Yi Xuan, Vanessa Yeung and Zhang Yang Guo Er attended a red carpet event and handprint ceremony at the
porte-cochère of Sheraton Macao Hotel, Cotai Central, on their way to an
exclusive VIP gala dinner. The dinner featured an enchanting evening of entertainment
featuring dazzling magic acts and a headline performance by Taiwanese pop
singer Jeff Chang, who wooed the guests with his signature Mandopop ballads.
Race with the Stars is the most recent success of the Stars of the Cotai Strip campaign, which
kicked off in November, and has featured a number of celebrity-filled events,
including dining, shopping and a New Year’s countdown and concert.
