(Macao, December 5, 2012) - The Winter in Venice Photo Competition will close its submission Friday, December 7, 2012. Macao residents who would like to share their original photos showing the festive moments from the various attractions of Winter in Venice, the biggest holiday carnival in Macao and a first in Asia, should grab the wonderful chance and participate in the contest, which will announce 56 winners on December 19 to take home up to MOP 10,000 cash prize.
Entries of original photos (can be black and white or colour) must be submitted to any of the five participating photo shops: Digital Hang Seng, Foto Digital Fantastic, Digital Chi Pak, Photo New Asia or Foto Time Laser Print, by close of Friday, December 7* to qualify, with each contestant allowed to submit a maximum of 15 photos. The names of the winners will be published on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, in major newspapers and at The Venetian Macao website (www.venetianmacao.com/winterinvenice). The winning photoswill bedisplayed at the Winter in Venice Photo Exhibition to be held from December 29, 2012 to January 13, 2013 at The Venetian Macao.
The champion will be awarded a trophy and MOP 10,000 cash, two first runners-up will each receive a trophy and MOP 6,000 cash, while three second runners-up will each get a trophy plus MOP 3,000 cash. In addition, a total of 50 Awards of Merit will be given out with a MOP 500 food and beverage coupon each.
The Venetian Macao has now been transformed into a majestic winter wonderland, with exciting celebrations and festivities throughout the integrated resort until January 13, 2013.Supported by the Macau Government Tourist Office, this unprecedented seasonal experience in Macao features one of the world's largest architectural 3D video mapping projects ever created, the spectacular 3D light and sound show, "The Magic of the Seasons." Night-time gondola rides in the outdoor lagoon during weekends are available for viewing the stunning visuals.This ultimate holiday extravaganza has also brought to Macao one of its biggest outdoor Christmas trees standing elegantly over the lagoon area, the first and only synthetic skating rink in Cotai as well as aGiant Snow Globe located at St. Mark's Square, The Venetian Macao's Shoppes Grand Canal.
