most important Chinese festivals of the year. To celebrate the arrival of the
Year of the Snake, the ever-popular destination at the heart of Cotai Strip™
Resorts will introduce an array of auspicious and unique attractions, celebrations
and entertainment events beginning Sunday, February 10. One of the major
highlights of this extravaganza is a dazzling, all-new 3D light and sound show,
“Prosperity,” that will take spectators on a magical journey full of fortune,

Chinese cultural elements, will be hosted nightly at
The Venetian Macao lagoon, every 30 minutes from 6:30 pm to 11 pm, with

show, made possible by innovative digital video mapping technology, is projected
onto the integrated resort’s façade, spanning over 43,000 square feet (4,000

auspicious journey of good fortune, wealth and longevity. The stunning visual
experience features
fantastic scenes, including a flood of gold coins dropping from the top of the façade, filling it like a jar, and giant
‘fai chun’ papers delivering lucky messages and best wishes written in Chinese
calligraphy. Other traditional Spring Festival symbols such as ‘lai see’
envelopes, colourful paper lanterns, fireworks, fire crackers and cumquats also
appear in the show.
The
Venetian Macao’s lagoon area has also been decorated in Chinese New Year themes
with golden trees and a Chinese-style arch, alongside specially-costumed
Streetmosphere™ performers to meet and greet visitors, providing occasions for
memorable photos.
No Chinese New Year
celebrations would be complete without the lion and dragon dance. The
traditional performance can be seen right after the 7 pm and 9 pm 3D light and
sound show between February 10 and 17, and between February 22 and 24, at the
outdoor lagoon area. The dance features LED technology and night time special effects, adding uniqueness to the custom. In addition, visitors
can write down their New Year wishes on a wishing card and on-site staff will
hang them on the wishing trees at the lagoon, from 11 am to 11 pm
daily between February 10 and 24. Visitors can also bring some luck home by
taking complimentary ‘fai chun’ papers handwritten by a Chinese calligrapher, for
30 minutes starting at the top of every hour between 3 and 6 pm daily from
February 10 to 12.
