(Macao, December 26, 2012) - The Venetian Theatre is bringing a one-of-a-kind homegrown Macao production to the stage on February 2 and 3, 2013, with a two-night-only performance of Myth of Fox; tickets are on sale now. The Cantonese musical comes from the mind of Hong Kong and Macao music composer and lyricist Chon Lei, who is the show's producer, playwright, artistic director, composer and lyricist.
"Myth of Fox is another great example of Sands China's effort to support the local creative and cultural industries by providing a platform to showcase local talent," said Sands China Ltd. President and Chief Executive Officer Edward Tracy. "The Venetian® Macao is proud to be the sponsor of this production, conceived and created right here in Macao."
Providing a world-class venue for the musical is part of Sands China's support of the Macao Government's strategy to strengthen Macao's position as a world centre of tourism and leisure, by enriching the cultural landscape of Macao through unique entertainment events like Myth of Fox.
Bringing together a talented cast and crew from Macao, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Li's production is being directed by famous Hong Kong drama director Desmond Tang, and has been choreographed by the renowned Mohamed Drissi. The principal cast is led by a foursome of singers: Hong Kong Cantopop star Vincy Chan, Taiwanese singer and actress Shino Lin and Macao's Kevin Cheng and Sean Pang. The musical is supported by the Macao Foundation and the Chinese Cultural Exchange Association.
The story of Myth of Fox follows a tribe of fox goblins who have lived in the forest for hundreds of years, but are afraid that deforestation by humans will lead them to eventual homelessness. The hero of the story, Little Fox, decides to incarnate himself into human form, promising to find true love among the humans within 100 days, to then reveal his true identity, paving the way for the rest of the foxes to migrate to a new life in the city.
Tickets for the 7:30 pm, February 2 and 3 performances of Myth of Fox are on sale now at all Sands China box offices*. They can be purchased in one of three categories: HKD/MOP 280 (A Reserve), 200 (B Reserve) and 120 (C Reserve).
