(Macao, April 18, 2013) - The Venetian® Macao hosted the China Music Awards for the second year in a row, bringing the prestigious awards show to The Venetian Theatre Thursday night in a star-studded event.
Eager fans lined the red carpet at The Venetian Macao main lobby, hoping to catch a glimpse of the multitude of celebrities in attendance, including international superstar Adam Lambert, K-pop group KARA, The Voice of China mentors Na Ying and Yang Kun, Eason Chan, Joey Yung, Charlene Choi, Rainie Yang and Show Luo, among dozens of others. Joining them were Sands China Ltd. Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer David Sisk and Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director Ben Toh. Attendees at the awards show also included representatives from Star China Media Ltd., CCTV and Shandong TV.
The presence of nearly 200 members of the press from mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao was a testament to the magnitude of the mega-event, which was broadcast and webcast live to an estimated global audience of 2 billion viewers.
With the ultra-luxurious Venetian Theatre as the venue, the exclusive, invitation-only VIP event featured the awards show's biggest cast of stars in recent years. The 17th China Music Awards was extraordinary on all fronts. The evening saw over 50 celebrities, almost 40 on-stage performances, over 100 dancers, and a technologically-advanced stage design that gave the glamorous night a punch usually associated with rock concerts, all making for an unforgettable evening of world-class entertainment.

Jointly organised by Star China Media, CCTV and Shandong TV, the China Music Awards features the best singing talent in China. The event was co-organised by Channel , the Venetian Theatre and The Venetian Macao, and supported by the Macau Government Tourist Office.
The high-profile awards show launched in 1994 and has since gathered the nation's top music industry talent in host cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei and Chengdu. It is the only Chinese music awards show that is telecast across China and around the world.
