(Macao, January 30, 2013) – The Venetian Theatre is inviting Macao locals and visitors to a romantic evening of live music by the Macao Orchestra, featuring some of the most touching music ever written for the silver screen. Tickets for the one-night only performance of Hollywood Love Stories – Great Romantic Film Music are now on sale at all Sands China box offices*.

Whether light-hearted, touching or memorable, cinematic love stories are always a pleasure to watch. Together with the countless love stories portrayed on film throughout the course of movie history are just as many musical moments that accompany, highlight, and enhance the romance and drama of storytelling. Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Hollywood Love Stories – Great Romantic Film Music features the Macao Orchestra and its Music Director and Principal Conductor Lü Jia, as well as renowned flutist Sara Andon and violinist Paolo Morena. The talented musicians will bring the classic love tunes of various Hollywood blockbusters to the Venetian Theatre at TheVenetian^®Macao, including Titanic, Romeo and Juliet, A Little Romance, Love Actually and Somewhere in Time.

The Macao Orchestra is a professional ensemble organized under the auspices of the Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau and is the only professional orchestra in Macao. For over 20 years, the Macao Orchestra has played an important role in the musical life of Macao. Since 1989, the orchestra has performed every year in the Macao International Music Festival (MIMF) and the Macao Arts Festival (MAF), gradually becoming the nucleus of these two major cultural events. Since September 2003, the orchestra has included several Concert Series every season, presenting both Western and Chinese masterpieces, thereby encouraging the pursuit of music among the broader public. Through its refined performance style and high quality concerts, the Macao Orchestra has become a symbol of Macao’s prosperity as an international cultural city. The orchestra has worked with dozens of internationally renowned musicians and conductors, among them Emmanuel Pahud, Barry Douglas, Maria João Pires and John Lill.
