December 28, 2012) – Macao locals and visitors will be able to enjoy spectacular
New Year’s Eve celebrations Monday night at Sands China’s Cotai Strip®
development, with exciting entertainment events across the integrated resort
city.
The Venetian® Macao Lagoon
The Winter in Venice lagoon area
will be alive with end-of-the-year excitement at one of Macao’s biggest outdoor family-friendly countdown, with
a variety of entertainment acts including acrobatics and live music (ranging
from beatboxing and drumming to jazz and funk), featuring a performance by the
amazing Lady Gaga tribute band, The House of GaGa.
As midnight approaches at 11:55 pm, revellers
can ring in the New Year with a 43,000-square-foot (4,000-square-metre) special
edition 3D video mapping countdown projected onto the façade of The Venetian
Macao, culminating with a spectacular pyrotechnic show launching from the Cotai
Strip properties to light up the Cotai sky. The New Year’s entertainment begins
at 6 pm, and includes free giveaways. Admission is free.
The spectacular 10-minute
3D light and sound show, “The Magic of the Seasons,” will also extend its show
times on December 31, running every 30 minutes from 6 pm to 11 pm adjacent to The Venetian Macao’s outdoor
lagoon.
CotaiArena™
Music lovers can rock their way into
the New Year at the CotaiArena with The
Voice of China Venetian Macao Rock with Stars Countdown Concert, featuring
members of the cast of the hit reality TV show The Voice of China along with Hong Kong’s
Paul Wong & The Postman.
Mandopop singer-songwriter Yang Kun,
one of the mentors of The Voice of China,
will lead over 20 contestants performing at the concert. Two famous celebrity
guests – CCTV host Cui Yong Yuan and Shanghai
stand-up comedian and founder of “Shanghai Style Small
Talk” Zhou Li Po – will lead The Voice of China contestants and
compete with each other. Concertgoers will also enjoy a live feed of an amazing
pyrotechnic show launching from the Cotai Strip properties at midnight.
Concertgoers can also choose to take advantage of a
special package including an autograph session with Paul Wong, who will be
appearing at Level 3 of Shoppes Cotai Central at 2:30 pm with 100 of his Paul
Wong Limited Edition Box Sets. The package also includes one The Voice of China
Venetian Macao Rock with Stars Countdown Concert ticket and a Cotai
Water Jet voucher, all for HK$1,150. Wong will also be participating in a hand
print ceremony for the Cotai Strip development’s upcoming ‘Avenue of the Stars.’
Sands® Cotai Central
Macao’s largest
and most stunning new five-star hotel, Sheraton Macao Hotel, Cotai Central is hosting an
exciting countdown event in town. Entertainment begins at 9 pm, and features internationally-acclaimed
DJs spinning the hottest tracks to get partygoers dancing, live music by a
variety of acts and an amazing performance by a Lady Gaga tribute band. The Cotai Strip development’s
thrilling midnight fireworks display will also be broadcast live to a large LED
screen.
