Global sporting icon David Beckham visited Cotai Strip Resorts Macao twice in less than six months, where he met with fans, community organisations and local students. Beckham made his debut appearance at The Venetian Macao in November 2013 to announce a business partnership in Asia with Las Vegas Sands Corp., the parent company of Sands China Ltd.

The Rolling Stones rocked Macao with a sell-out concert at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Arena in March. Over 10,000 delighted fans welcomed the rock legends for their Macao debut, as part of their Rolling Stones “14 on Fire” tour. The Stones have been making music for five decades, making them the longest running rock ’n’ roll band in history.

Alicia Keys, 14-time Grammy Award-winner and world-renowed singer/songwriter/producer brought her Set the World on Fire tour to the Venetian Theatre. The global tour was in support of Keys’ latest album Girl on Fire. Demand was so intense that Keys had to play two nightly concerts rather than just one as originally planned. 

Filipino sporting hero Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao defeated US boxer Brandon Rios by unanimous decision at the fight in the Cotai Arena in November 2013. Back in the ring for the first time in almost a year, Pacquiao wore Rios down with his trademark combination punching and won on points. Pacquiao grabbed the WBO international welterweight title with the victory.



Being the perfect location for the romance-themed Korean TV drama, the integrated resort will be featured in “Fated to Love You” starring Jang Hyuk and Jang Na-Ra, where certain scenes were filmed. Locations used during shooting included iconic attractions like the beautiful Grand Canal Shoppes and St. Mark’s Square, the outdoor lagoon, one of the luxurious hotel suites, and the ornate hotel main lobby.

The Venetian Macao has been a popular location for film and television shoots, including Chow Yun-Fat’s “From Vegas to Macau” and Zhang Ziyi’s “My Lucky Star,” making the integrated resort a hotspot for celebrity sightings.



Key from popular Korean boy band SHINee and Japanese model Arisa Yagi – one of the virtual married couples from season two of the hit South Korean reality show “We Got Married: Global Edition” – were in town April 1 to film their honeymoon. They visited some of Macao’s famous attractions, including taking a romantic gondola ride down the canals of The Venetian® Macao, enjoying beautiful melodies sung by a gondolier. The honeymoon episodes were scheduled to air in early June.
