( Macao , June 22, 2012)
– The internationally-acclaimed University of Santo Tomas Singers
showcased their talent and stage presence with their special performance
“Comemorar!” – Philippines Sings for Macao at the Venetian Theatre
Friday night, successfully unfolding to the Macao audience the reasons
why it is the only choir in the world to have been a two-time winner of
the highly-reputed Choir of the World Grand Prize - Luciano Pavarotti
Trophy.
Having performed all over the world during the past 20 years,
the talented ensemble was brought to The Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel in
cooperation with the Philippine Consulate of Macao and the Yun Yi arts
organization. “Comemorar!” – Philippines Sings for Macao featured a
diverse selection of 20 songs, including sacred standards (The Lord’s
Prayer and Look at the World), international standards (What a Wonderful
World and Plink, Plank, Plunk!), Filipino folk songs (Ay, Ay, Ay, O,
Pag-ibig! and Libis Ng Nayon Medley) and Broadway tunes (Ragtime and
Henry Ford from “Ragtime” musical). The audience immersed themselves in
