(Macao, June 7, 2012) – The Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel is sponsoring the venue for a special performance by the internationally-acclaimed University of Santo Tomas Singers at 8 pm on Friday, June 22 at the Venetian Theatre, in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate of Macao and the Yun Yi arts organization.
Having performed all over the world during the past 20 years, the talented ensemble has distinguished itself by being the only choir in the world to have been a two-time winner of the highly-coveted Choir of the World Grand Prize – Luciano Pavarotti Trophy. The concert performance of “Comemorar!” – Philippines Sings for Macao will feature a diverse selection of songs, including classics, international standards, Filipino folk songs and Broadway tunes.
The multiple-award-winning University of Santo Tomas Singers are the latest in a select group of talented international performers who have been invited to grace the stage of the region’s most luxurious theatre venue. Recent shows at the Venetian Theatre have featured ten-time Grammy winner George Benson, China’s top three tenors, the China National Symphony Orchestra and violinist Jue Yao, among others.
