A spokesperson of Venetian Macau
Limited (VML) offers the following comment with reference to remarks reported
in some Macao
newspapers yesterday and attributed to Ms. Pansy Ho, Managing Director of Shun
Tak Holdings Limited, operator of TurboJet.
“Venetian Macau Limited, in line
with established practices of the gaming industry in Macao, offers incentives including
complimentary ferry tickets to customers. Our priority is to
ensure the convenience of our valued customers, and to meet their route
requirements. We purchase tickets from
the two existing ferry operators in Macao,
TurboJet and CotaiJet. In fact, our company has bought an estimated 210,000
ferry tickets from TurboJet in the past 12 months and remains a significant
supporter of Turbojet’s business. VML has not obtained any free ticket from
either TurboJet or CotaiJet. We regret that statements have been reported in
the media to give the impression that our company has received preferential
treatments from a ferry operator.”
