World’s Best Street Dancers Get Down at CotaiArena

One Wish crowned Hong Kong/Macao street dance champion

(Macao, May 28, 2012) - A total of 14 teams from Hong Kong and Macao showcased their unique dance moves and skills at the CotaiArena™ stage Sunday to fight for the big titles of the globally-recognised China Dance Delight competition. One Wish, L.D.G. and Lock Da Hell stood out from the fierce competition and took home the city-level championship, first runner-up and second runner-up places respectively.

Widely known as the "Street Dance Olympics," the highly-regarded China Dance Delight Vol.03 (Macao/Hong Kong) is part of Sands China Ltd.'s effort to establish Macao as Asia's must-visit entertainment destination. The competition amazed and energized open-space dance enthusiasts at The Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel. The audience was impressed by the powerful dance moves and could feel the intense atmosphere on the stage. Five distinguished street dancers - Takesaburo from Tokyo, Ejoe from New York, Woong from South Korea, Standly from Shanghai and Dino from Beijing were invited to form the judging panel, which gave the highest score to One Wish based on their outstanding performance and stage presence.

The champion has been awarded a place to participate in the finals of China Dance Delight Vol.03 in Shanghai on July 22, as well as an award certificate and a return trip to Shanghai. First runner-up L.D.G. and second runner-up Lock Da Hell received cash prizes of HK$3,000 and HK$1,000 respectively. Three special prizes sponsored by Inspirational Youth Association Macau were also awarded.

In its efforts toward helping develop local talent, The Venetian Macao was the official venue sponsor of this year's event, providing the facilities and full technical support, such as stage and lighting set-up, of the CotaiArena. In addition, ticket sale proceeds have gone to the Macau Street Dance Culture Association, the organisation that brought China Dance Delight to Macao in 2011. Macao was the first stop for China Dance Delight Vol.2 (Hong Kong/Macao) in 2011, attracting 213 contestants and 1,500 spectators.
