(Macao, August 22, 2012) - The Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel hosted a special lunch as a token of appreciation for Macao's media at the Venetian ballroom Wednesday. Around 140 publishers, directors, editors-in-chief and reporters from a wide range of media organisations joined the gathering as part of the month-long celebration of the fifth anniversary of The Venetian Macao and of the Cotai Strip® this month. Edward Tracy, President and Chief Executive Officer; David Sisk, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and other senior executives of Sands China Ltd. attended the event and toasted The Venetian Macao's anniversary, as they look forward to another year of cooperation with the local media.
Mr. Tracy expressed appreciation to the attending guests and the valuable service they provide to the public as members of the press. He remarked, "It's been an amazing five years of development on the Cotai Strip. We count it as one our successes, that Sands China introduced Macao to the integrated resort model pioneered by our Chairman, Mr. Sheldon Adelson. You've seen and documented not only the growth and development of Sands China's expanding family of integrated resorts, but you've also witnessed the maturation of the Cotai Strip - including the upcoming phase two opening of Sands Cotai Central on September 20, featuring the world's largest Sheraton hotel. The Cotai Strip is well on its way to helping make Macao a world centre of tourism and leisure, and the number one destination in Asia for business and leisure travellers."
During the two-hour gathering, lucky draws giving away a wide variety of attractive prizes including complimentary hotel stays, food and beverage vouchers, spa treatments and gondola ride experiences were held. The Venetian Macao's signature Streetmosphere™ performers also gave entertaining performances to wrap up the event.
