After a fierce final round, Mr. Wong Si Cheng was crowned with the first Dragon Master Slot champion title and took home a HK$380,000 cash award.
The qualifying rounds of the competition took place at the three participating casinos Saturday, with over 1,300 contestants, many of whom were Sands Rewards Club members, in addition to buy-in patrons. About 600 players, including 100 wild card entrants, began Sunday’s semi-final round at The Venetian Macao, with the top thirty players going on to compete in the final round for a shot at becoming one of the top 20 winning players claiming their portion of the tournament’s total cash prize pool of HK$1,000,000. Mr. Wong finally managed to defeat the other 29 players and was awarded the HK$380,000 cash prize for his first place finish. The thirty players in Sunday’s final have each been given a seat in the Royal Dragon Master Slot tournament’s qualifying round, to be held on October 13, with a chance to win a share of a HK$5,000,000 total cash prize pool.
The second Dragon Master Slot tournament will be held on September 15 and 16 at the three casinos, with another million-dollar cash prize pool up for grabs. The Royal Dragon Master Slot tournament will take place soon after, on October 13 and 14, with a HK$5 million total cash prize pool.
