October 31, 2012) – Sands China Ltd. held
a successful dealer recruitment fair on October 28 and 29 at Sands® Macao, offering close to 600 vacancies for Macao residents. The two-day event welcomed a crowd of
over 1,200 applicants, from which
nearly 50 per cent were given job offers.
As the largest operator of
integrated resorts in Macao,
Sands China continues to provide an abundance of career opportunities to locals
at recruitment fairs held regularly at its properties, in line with the
company’s ongoing commitment to the local labour market. Sands China currently
employs more than 23,000 employees across its four properties, including over 17,000 local residents. In 2011 alone,
Sands China promoted over 1,000 local team members to higher positions across its
varied operations. And in just the first quarter of this year, nearly 1,300
locals were promoted within the company.
Sands China
has always stressed the importance of attracting local talent to its growing
business portfolio, believing that the talented pool of Macao locals is a highly valuable asset to
help support its Cotai Strip® development with its skills,
intelligence and enthusiasm. Aside from the Sands China Career and Development
Centre, which provides existing team members with career advice and support,
Sands China strives to offer its staff the best tailor-made training available.
The company delivered more than 75,000 hours of various training and
development programmes covering a variety of topics such as languages,
management development and job skills building in 2011.
The two-day job fair, which ran Sunday
and Monday between noon and 6 pm at the Sands Macao ballroom, was targeted at local
residents only and featured dealer positions for the various gaming areas at
Sands China’s Cotai Strip development, which comprises
the three integrated resort properties of The
Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel, The Plaza™ Macao and Sands®
Cotai Central.
