Three-day exhibition attracts close to 10,000 visitors
(Macao, February 29, 2012) – Jointly co-organised by The Venetian® Macao-Resort- Hotel and the Tertiary Education Services Office – GAES of Macao SAR, the Macau Education Fair was successfully held from February 24 to 26, 2012 at CotaiExpo™ with close to 10,000 visitors and 88 exhibitors participating. This is the second year that the Macau Education Fair was held at The Venetian Macao. This year’s theme was “The Premier International Education Fair is Your Milestone to Success,” and was aimed at providing students and parents an opportunity to gather sound information on local and overseas educational trends and information.
With almost 6,000 square metres of exhibition space, 88 exhibitors representing universities, colleges, government bodies, training institutions from all over the world and local banks were represented in the fair, an increase in participation of nearly 10% over 2011. The Tertiary Education Services Office, co-organizer of the fair, had invited over 60 exhibitors from higher education and government bodies, breaking last year’s record.
The exhibitors were from all over the world, including Mainland China, Macao, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, Brunei, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the Philippines, Portugal, Singapore, Switzerland, the UK and the United States. Over 60 study talks and seminars were held during the fair to disseminate information on tertiary and overseas education, providing an excellent opportunity for students and parents from Macao and the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region to learn more about higher education in different countries and regions. It also provided opportunities for those eager to pursue further studies to make appropriate choices.
Visitors were impressed by the variety of booths exhibited and the educational information provided, allowing them to collect many useful facts about pursuing further studies abroad. It was testament to the success of the highly-praised event that most of the exhibitors have expressed interest in returning again for another exhibition.
