(Hong Kong, April 25, 2012) – The Venetian Carnival has extended the entry date for budding performers looking to participate in the inaugural International Jazz & Blues Band Competition. Entries will now close at 6 pm (HK time) on Friday, May 4, 2012.
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will see a set of finalists flown to Macao to perform as part of the three-day Venetian Carnival from May 25 - 27, with flights and accommodation sponsored by The Venetian Macao, for a chance to play and be seen by the best in the industry. The hopefuls will also be competing for an impressive cash prize from a pool of HK$500,000 (approx. US$64,000).
“Entries to date have exceeded expectations with the sheer number of high-calibre talent,” said Brendon Elliott, Vice President of Sales and Resort Marketing, Venetian Macau Limited. “We received a flood of interest from not just Hong Kong and Asia, but from as far away as Australia and Europe.
“Extending the entry closing date to May 4 seemed an obvious decision to allow more talented artists the opportunity to enter, elevating the competition even higher and further shining a spotlight on this wealth of creative musical talent.”
